My name is Lucia Heese (they, them), using Lucia and Bex interchangably.
As a student I constantly worried about the red ink that might mark up my assignments - creative, scholarly, or otherwise. Through conversation with those who held the red pen, I developed confidence in my learned writing skills. Then, I became the one holding the metaphorical red pen and I did not want to instill the same fear of writing feedback. Through 3 years of working at Santa Clara University's HUB Writing Center, I am experienced in a variety of writing forms, citaiton styles, and learning styles including but not limited to:
At LBH Tutoring, I work with writers so they develop confidence in their ability to navigate the writing process (brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and revising) through a casestudy approach for writing peices in individual sessions. My focus is on the writer; I endeavor to never mark up a page in red ink but rather engage with the one behind the writing: the writer.
I currently offer Asynchronous (share a google doc, get in-document feedback AND a summary email, no in-session engagement required) and Zoom sessions (most like in person, in document feedback and summary email).
I offer 30-, 45-, and 60-minute sessions. General guidance: if you are looking for feedback on 2 or more areas of feedback and/or have 5+ pages, go for a longer session (45 minutes to and hour) to make sure you have the time you need.

You will get an email from me confirming details. Please confirm the details of the email, otherwise the session will be marked as a no show upon the start of the session.
*Zoom Sessions* 10 minutes before, I will share the zoom link.
At the ending time of the session, I require payment for the rest of the session balance. Upon receipt of the payment, I will share the session's copy of the document with my feedback (for both Zoom and Asycnhronous session).
I can also send a reciept upon request.
*Zoom Sessions* We will talk through the areas of feedback you are looking for, working hands on in the document, and collaborate on getting the paper to where you want.
*Asynchronous Sessions* I will work on the document by making in-document comments during the alloted session time. Within 15 minutes of the session's end time, you will recieve a summary email of my feedback.

All payments will be made through Venmo and Zelle.
Pricing is based on session type and length, and varies by active session time and passive time (time I spend outisde the session before and after). See section on session types and pricing.
I use a deposit system for payments. The deposit is a portion of the total cost of the session with the balance due at the end of the session. The deposit includes a $4 admin fee that covers time spent developing the summary email after each session and communications outside of the active session time. In addition to the $4 admin fee, the depsoit includes 30% of the active time. The depsoit is due within 30 minutes of filling out the Calendly link.
During the session, I will make a copy of the document with my feedback. At the end of the session, I will ask for the rest of the payment. Upon receipt, I will share the copy of the document with my feedback.
If notified in writing 48 hours prior to the session, the deposit will be refunded in full.
If notified in writing, 24 hours prior to the session, the deposit minus the admin fee will be refunded.
If notified in wriitng less than 24 hours prior to the session or a no show, the deposit is non-refundable. Life happens. So I give 10 minute buffer from session start to accomodate for life things. If the clcient does not make contact with me (on zoom, or responding to requests for document access for asynchronous sessions), the session will be marked a no-show. If a client has 3 no-shows, I will not accept further requests the individual client.

The deposit covers 30% of the session length and the $4 admin fee. The remaining balance is due at the end of the session.
